Abstract

This research aims to conduct a critical study of the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning programs in general education institutions. This study highlights the urgency of in-depth understanding of the implementation of PAI programs as an integral part of the general education system. The research method used is a qualitative approach using observation, interview and document analysis techniques. Data was obtained through interactions with school principals, teachers and other stakeholders. The results of the study show several obstacles in implementing the PAI program, including teachers' lack of understanding of the concept of independent learning, the dominance of conventional teaching methods, difficulties in creating learning modules, and difficulties in the student assessment process. Additional efforts are needed from all stakeholders, such as additional training for teachers, providing more complete modules, and guidance in the student assessment process, to increase the effectiveness of implementing PAI learning programs in general education institutions.
